Everyone wants to save money. Following are a few suggestions.
- Coupons. Coupons can be found everywhere. There are coupons for foods, cleaning products, restaurants, admissions to events, reduced haircuts and many other products and services.
- Lunches. Become a brown bagger. Purchase ingredients to make lunches and bring them with you. Pack your snacks and beverages as well.
- Coffee. Make a pot of coffee at home and pack it in a thermos or one of the beverage containers. This alone will save at least $5.00 a week.
- Leftovers. Don't throw out those leftovers. Vegetables, gravies, pastas, rices or meats can be turned into a casserole or soup. Many times by combining leftovers you will get another meal or a nice side dish. Consider having a leftovers meal night. A couple of pieces of chicken, meatloaf or anything else paired with left over rices, noodles and vegetables can make a few extra meals.
- Errands. Limit going to the mall or the grocery story to once a week. Make a list of the places you need to go and the items you need and do it all in one trip. This will save on gas money.
- Consignment shops. Consignment shops have many articles of apparel that have just been worn a few times and the prices are wonderful. This allows you to boost your wardrobe and save. A perfect place to get children's clothes that they will outgrow before the end of a season.
- Greeting cards. Many free packages are available on the internet to make cards which you can e-mail to a friend or relative for any occasion.
- On-line bill pay. Pay your bills on line and save postage.
- Dollar Stores. Novalty items, plastic containers can be found for $1.00.
- Gyms. Start your own exercise programs at home with tapes, CD's, etc. and eliminate the gym.
- Beauty services. Look for beautician schools in the area that offer their services at a discounted rate.
- Car insurance. Every few years, compare prices with different companies, many times a savings will be found.
